READING, Pa . - The Albright field hockey team (4-9, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth) dropped a home match with Alvernia (9-4, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth) on Wednesday evening. The Crusaders scored two first half goals on their way to a 3-1 victory over the Lions.

Alvernia got on the scoresheet first in the opening period off a penalty corner to take a 1-0 lead and would then extend their lead to 2-0 at halftime. 

After a goalless third period for both sides Albright tried to stage a late rally in the fourth period. 

Chelsea Johnson found the back of the net in the early going of the fourth period to cut the deficit in half. The goal was Johnson's seventh of the season. Olivia Lorah was credited with the assist on Johnson's tally. 

Alvernia later added a penalty stroke goal to seal the victory. 

In addition to Lorah's assist she was also credited with a shot for the Lions.
