Football Caps Regular Season against LVC; Viera and Rapp Set School Records

The Albright football team fell today on the road to LVC by a final score of 41-24. Sam Viera and Ryan Rapp both set school records today during their final game for Albright.

ANNVILLE, Pa - The Albright football team (0-10, 0-8 MAC Commonwealth) capped off their 2022 season against Lebanon Valley College (5-5, 5-3 MAC Commonwealth) on Saturday afternoon. Lebanon Valley won the game 0-0. Despite the loss, individually, Albright football had a notable day.

Sam Viera and Ryan Rapp both came into today's game looking to make history. Viera needed nine total tackles to set the all-time career tackle record and Rapp needed a half sack to set the single season sack record.

With just over six minutes left to play Viera made his ninth tackle of the day to set the all time career tackle record for Albright football. Viera finished the game with 10 total tackles ending his Albright career with 385 total tackles.

Rapp made history on the first drive of the game earning a half sack when he brought down LVC's QB behind the line. Rapp is now the single season sack record holder in Albright football history with 12.5 sacks in a single season.

To begin the game, Albright and LVC traded first quarter touchdowns. Starting quarterback Jahkem Allen scampered into the endzone from nine yards out to tie the game up at 7-7 after one quarter.

The Dutchmen added three more touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 27-17 lead at halftime. Allen scored Albright's touchdown in the quarter on a one yard run for his second of the day.

The Lions battled back and closed their deficit to just three points in the third quarter. Allen scored his third rushing touchdown of the day, inching closer to taking the lead.

After a costly Albright fumble with four minutes left in the third, LVC was able to take control of the game and ultimately earn the win, 41-24.

Allen finished with 56 yards rushing in addition to his three scores and threw for 73 yards. Lazerionta Taylor hauled in a 50 yard reception to lead the Albright receiving core. Quincy Clark added 63 yards rushing on eight carries for the Lions.

Daniel Vital added 10 tackles for Albright on the defensive side of the ball. Josh Scurry recorded a half sack and CJ Partridge added a tackle for loss to his name.
