Men’s Basketball Falls in Home Opener

The Albright men’s basketball team was in action on Friday night in their 2022-23 home opener and dropped a non-conference clash with Franklin & Marshall 77-75.

READING, Pa. - The Albright men's basketball team (1-3) was in action on Friday night against Franklin & Marshall (3-1) in a non-conference clash. The visiting Diplomats earned a comeback win over the Lions winning the game 77-75.

Franklin and Marshall jumped out to a 13-6 lead in the early stages of the game. The Lions battled back midway through the opening half to tie the game up at 17-17.

In the final minutes of the first half Albright would catch fire from the field. From five minutes left until halftime the Lions shot six for nine from the field giving them a 41-34 advantage at the break.

Albright held a 12 point lead with 14 minutes left however F&M was able to close the gap to get within striking distance.

Timely three's and swarming defensive for the Diplomats helped them get back into the game.

The Lions had a chance to win at the buzzer but the Eric Chamberlain layup attempt was blocked giving the visitors the win.

Dylan McGinley led the Lions offensively scoring 14 points. Three other Lions were in double figures tonight with Issac LaPierre 12, Chamberlain had 11 and Robert Mangum had 11.

The Albright men's basketball team will head back on the road against the University of Valley Forge. The game will be played on Tuesday, November 22 and will tip off at 7 p.m.
