READING, Pa. – The Albright men's tennis team bounced back with an 8-1 victory over Saint Elizabeth at the Albright College Tennis Courts on Saturday.
With the win, the Lions improve to 4-4 overall. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles fall to 0-1.
Albright jumped out to a 3-0 lead after claiming all three doubles matches.
Arpit Gainder and
Kade Friedrich grasped an 8-2 win in the first doubles match to get the Lions rolling.
Kobe Serpa and
Clay Lewandowski notched an 8-1 win in the second doubles spot.
Mike Vogt and
Nick Bush did not allow a single point in the third doubles match with a dominant 8-0 victory.
Gainder opened the singles matches with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 1 spot for Albright. Serpa posted a 6-0, 6-3 win in the No. 2 spot. Friedrich suffered a retirement loss in the No. 3 spot as Saint Elizabeths earned their solo point of the match. Lewandowski picked the Lions back up in the No. 4 spot with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Vogt shut down his opponent in the No. 5 spot with a 6-0, 6-0 victory while Bush rounded out the Lions singles matches with a 6-1, 6-0 win.
The Lions will return to action on Monday as they host Gwynedd Mercy at the Albright College Tennis Courts at 4 p.m.
