READING, Pa. – The Albright men's tennis team claimed a 7-2 win over Clarks Summit to open up their spring schedule at the Albright Tennis Courts on Saturday.
With the win, the Lions advance to 3-3 overall, while the Defenders fall to 0-3.
Albright took a 2-1 lead at the conclusion of the doubles.
Arpit Gainder and
Samuel Zapata Hernandez opened up the first doubles with an 8-1 win. Kade Freidrich and
Kobe Serpa fell 8-2 in the second doubles, but
Clay Lewandowski and
Mike Vogt picked them up with an 8-0 victory in the third doubles.
Gainder took a 6-3, 6-2 win in the first singles spot while Zapata Hernandez followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the second. Friedrich fell 3-6, 4-6 in the third spot, but Serpa earned a 6-4, 6-1 win in the fourth. Lewandowski took a 6-0, 7-5 win in the fifth spot and Vogt rounded out the Lions singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the sixth.
Albright will return to action on Saturday, March 12
th as they travel to Penn State Abington at 1 p.m.
