READING, Pa. – The Albright men's golf team competed in the inaugural Lion's Cup against Penn State Berks. Albright hosted day one of the two-day event on Saturday at the Golden Oaks Golf Club while Penn State Berks hosted day two at the Berkshire Country Club on Wednesday.
 
Penn State Berks captured the foundational cup as they defeated Albright 6-3.
 
First-year Ben Egin and sophomore Colby Gaylor got Albright off to a good start in the first fourball match on Saturday, claiming a 4&2 victory over Penn State Berks. The Nittany Lions went on to claim the next two fourball matches on the opening day to hold a 2-1 advantage.
 
The Lions continued to battle throughout their singles matches on Wednesday. The Nittany Lions grasped the first two singles matches over senior Jeremy Brubaker and junior Will Tarpine. Egin continued to shoot well for Albright as he claimed the third singles match with a 4&3 victory. Gaylor followed with a 3&2 victory in the fourth singles match. Juniors Nicholas Griffith and Dylan Coco dropped the final two singles matches to Penn State Berks who solidified their 6-3 victory over Albright.
