READING, Pa. – The Albright women's lacrosse team concluded the 2022 season with a thrilling 11-10 double overtime win over Hood in MAC Commonwealth action at Shirk Stadium on Saturday.
Prior to the contest, Albright honored the dedications and commitments of their ten graduating seniors:

Abbie Moist,
Ashleigh Tortorice,
Abigail Lauterbach,
Marisa Cocca, and
Maddie Taylor.
With the win, the Lions conclude the 2022 season 3-5 in MAC Commonwealth action and 5-12 overall. Meanwhile, the Blazers conclude their season 1-7 in conference and 5-11 overall.
Abbie Moist fueled Albright's offense with a season-high five points behind two goals and three assists. Sophomore
Kyra Lycett notched a hat-trick and six draw controls to add to the Lions win. Sophomore
Katelyn Patrick grabbed a game-high five ground balls and posted two caused turnovers and one goal.
Both teams got off to a slow start offensively as Hood notched the opening goal of the game at the 11:21-mark of the first. Albright finally got on the board at the 5:47-mark as sophomore
Kyra Lycett found the back of the net behind a feed from Moist to tie the game at one. The two teams battled back and forth but neither team was able to take the lead going into the second stanza.
The Blazers finally broke through at the 13:10-mark of the second quarter on a man-up free-position goal to grasp a 2-1 lead. The Lions tied the game up at two as
Kyra Lycett again scored off a feed from Moist at the 10:42-mark. Hood quickly responded by winning the draw and scoring less than ten seconds later to take back the lead. The Blazers then extended their lead to two at the 6:36-mark. Sophomore
Katelyn Patrick notched an unassisted goal at the 2:06-mark to get Albright within one, bringing the score to 4-3 entering the break.
Hood came out of the half with two-straight scores to claim a 6-3 lead at the 8:13-mark. Junior
Abigail Hai responded at the 5:59-mark with an unassisted goal to get Albright within two. Hood, however, scored with just one second left in the third to hold onto a 7-4 advantage entering the final frame.
Albright came to life in the fourth quarter and found the spark they needed. Moist jumpstarted Albright's run with back-to-back free-position goals less than a minute apart to get the Lions within one at the 10:25-mark. Junior
Chloe Fornoff netted the equalizer at the 9:32-mark to tie the game at seven. The Lions took their first lead of the game as Tortorice found the back of the net behind a feed from Moist at the 8:49-mark. Lycett notched her third goal of the game to cap off the Lions run and grasp a 9-7 lead with 5:47 remaining. Hood responded with three-straight goals to take the lead back at 10-9 with just 1:48 left to play. Fornoff once again scored the equalizer on the eight-meter in the final minute of regulation to send the contest into extra frames.
Albright controlled the pace in both overtime sessions barely allowing Hood the opportunity for a possession. The Lions were unable to score until the final second of the second overtime as Tortorice earned a free-position shot and buried the ball into the back of the net to claim the 11-10 win for Albright.
The Lions held a 29-25 shot advantage and a 25-16 shot on goal advantage over the Blazers. Albright also won the battle for ground balls 23-19 and draw controls 15-9. First-year goalkeeper
Caelainn Morrison earns the Lions final victory of the season with six saves in the full 66 minutes. Sophia Vilaca receives the loss for the Blazers despite completing 14 saves in the full amount of action.
