YORK, Pa. – The Albright men's lacrosse team was shut down 25-4 at #6 York in MAC Commonwealth action on Wednesday evening.
With the loss, the Lions drop to 0-3 in conference and 4-7 overall. Meanwhile, the nationally ranked Spartans improve to 3-0 in conference and 8-2 overall.

Cole Genneken scored two goals a piece to account for the Lions four goals on the evening. Senior
Ryan Janowski grabbed a team-high five ground balls.
York controlled the pace in the first half registering their first goal just 1:30 into action. The Spartans kept their momentum throughout the opening two frames, netting 17 unanswered first-half goals to take a commanding lead entering the break.
Early finally got the Lions on the board with the opening goal of the second half at the 11:44-mark of the third quarter. York answered with a goal at the 7:57-mark taking their lead to 18-1. Genneken found the back of the net at the 6:20-mark for the Lions, but the Spartans notched three unanswered goals to close out the third frame with a dominant 21-2 lead.
The Spartans kept their foot on the gas in the final stanza, netting another four-straight goals to cap off their scoring and extend their lead to 25-2 with 9:34 remaining. Early and Genneken each found the back of the net once more for the Lions, but the Spartans ultimately claimed the dominant 25-4 conference win.
York held a sizable 72-28 shot advantage over Albright. The Spartans also won the battle for ground balls 59-28 and face offs 27-6. First-year goalkeeper
Ethan Hendershot receives the loss for the Lions with 8 saves in 30 minutes of action. Jack Michael earns the win for the Spartans with seven saves in 30 minutes of pay.
The Lions will return to Shirk Stadium on Wednesday at 7 p.m. as they host Widener in MAC Commonwealth action.
