Bryn Mawr, PA - In their season opener, the Albright Lions field hockey team fell to Bryn Mawr by a final score of 5-0.
The Owls got out to an early lead with a goal late in the first quarter by Eva Yacura. They took the 1-0 lead into the second, where their offense found a rhythm, scoring three goals on 11 shots. They held a 4-0 lead at the half.
The Lions got all of their offensive chances in the third quarter, getting shots by
Chelsea Johnson,
Olivia Lorah, and
Lamya Mejias, but were unable to get any in goal. The Owls would add a final goal half way through the fourth quarter to give them their 5-0 victory.
Albright used two goalies, as
Adele Thomas started, six saves.
Veronica Heckman would come in for the second half, also making six saves.Â
The Lions were outshot 26-3, and Bryn Mawr had the penalty corners advantage 7-2.
