Field Hockey Puts Up Strong effort in Loss

Reading, PA - The Albright Lions put up a strong effort in a loss to the Arcadia Knights, falling 3-0. The loss drops the Lions to 0-2 on the season, while the Knights move to 1-1.

The Knights got out to a very early lead, scoring a goal within the first minute of the game, as Caeley LeTersky put the ball in the net. Despite both teams having plenty of chances the rest of the first half, neither team would score again. The third quarter was the same, plenty of chances, but no goals. The Knights pulled away in the fourth scoring twice, giving them a 3-0 victory.

The Lions were kept in the game by stellar goalie play from Veronica Heckman. She made 11 saves on 14 shots on goal. Chelsea Johnson led the way on offense with six shots, five of which forced the Knights goalie to make a save. The Lions as a team put 12 shots on goal.

Arcadia played very physically, committing 29 fouls, which led to the Lions having 12 penalty corners.

Up Next - The Lions will head out on the road for their next game, traveling to Stevens in Hoboken, NJ for a 7pm start on Wednesday, September 7.
