Hoboken, NJ - The Albright Lions fell by a score of 4-2 to Stevens, falling to 0-3 on the season. Stevens improved to 3-1.
Stevens got on the board in the first quarter on a Makenna Quigley goal off of a penalty corner. It was one nine shots by the ducks in the quarter. The Lions would respond in the second quarter when
Chelsea Johnson scored on a deflection from
Morgan Kopcik. The score remained tied at one headed into halftime.
The third quarter saw four goals be scored, with the ducks scoring three of them. The lone Lion goal came from Johnson, and assisted by
Laurel Gingrich. With no goals scored in the fourth, the final score ended at 4-2.
Albright was out shot 23-11 in the game, but after the first quarter it was just 12-11 in favor of the Ducks. Both teams had eight penalty corners in the game.
Of their nine shots on goal, Johnson had five of them. The remaining Lion four shots came from
Morgan Kopcik,
Laurel Gingrich,
Megan Keller, and
Keliah Santiago.
The Lions used two goalies, with
Veronica Heckman getting the start and making seven saves on nine shots, while
Adele Thomas made two saves on four shots.
