Chester, PA - The Albright Lions fell in their conference opener to Widener by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. It drops the Lions to 1-5 on the season, and 0-1 in conference play. Widener improves to 4-2 and 1-0.
After a scoreless first quarter, Widener got on the board with a Juliana Sanchez goal early in the second quarter. That was all for the scoring in the first half.
Early in the second half, the Lions would tie things up on a
Lamya Mejias goal. Things would stay that way until the fourth when Widener scored twice.

Veronica Heckman made 10 saves in the game.
WIdener held the shot advantage 18-8, with shots on goal being 13-5. Penalty corners were close, as Widener had a slight 9-8 lead.
