Lancaster, PA - The Albright Lions Women's Tennis team defeated the Lancaster Bible College Chargers by a score of 6-3 Wednesday afternoon, moving to 3-0 on the season. The Chargers fell to 0-1.
The Lions swept the doubles matches, with
Alex Pancu and
Michelle Timothy leading the way with an 8-2 victory. The pairing of
Megan Colaneri and
Macie Littleton won their match 8-4, as did
Alizabeth Zarnofsky and
Marisa Cocca.
In singles the two teams split the six matches. Pancu and Timothy again led the way with Pancu winning 6-0, 6-2, and Timothy winning 6-2, 6-1. Zarnofsky also picked up a victory, winning her match 6-0, 6-0. Colaneri fell in her match 3-6,3-6. Littleton also fell in two straights by a score of 2-6, 3-6.
Lauren China fell in her first set 2-6, but came back and won the second set 6-0. In the third set tiebreaker, China fell 7-10.
Up Next - The tennis team will next play on Friday, September 30th against Misericordia. That match will start at 3pm at the Albright Tennis Courts.
