OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Albright College men's basketball team (5-9, 2-4 MAC Commonwealth) went on the road this afternoon to Stevenson University (9-5, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth) and dropped a MAC Commonwealth matchup to the Mustangs, 78-72.
Albright found themselves down early in the first half but kept their composure and were able to battle back in the game throughout the opening 20 minutes.
After being down double digits, two Zyon Grant free throws with a minute left brought Albright within two possessions going into halftime.
Grant earned the start today and poured in a team high seven first half points and collected four total rebounds including three offensive in the opening half.
Both teams shot the ball well in the second half seeing each team score 45 points. The Mustangs used their hot shooting to their advantage pulling away from the Lions building up a sizable lead.
The Lions would not go down without a fight after a Qadir Mitchell triple cut the deficit to only six with 30 seconds left. The late comeback charge came up short for Albright playing to the final buzzer.
Grant finished the game with 14 points, four rebounds and four assists for Albright. Chris Kouemi added 14 points of his own to go along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Robert Mangum scored 13 points and collected eight rebounds while Eric Chamberlain added 11 points seven rebounds and three steals.
