Women’s Soccer Drops Home Match to Stevenson

The Albright women’s soccer team hosted Stevenson on a rain soaked Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs got the better of the Lions winning today's game by a final score of 3-0.

READING, Pa. - The Albright women's soccer team (4-8-2, 0-2-1 MAC Commonwealth) played host to the Stevenson Mustangs (5-5-4, 1-1-1 MAC Commonwealth) on a rain soaked Saturday afternoon at Shirk Stadium. The Mustangs got the best of the Lions in today's match winning by a final of 3-0. 

Stevenson opened the scoring in the 9th minute play to take a 1-0 lead. The 1-0 score would hold after 45 minutes of play. 

McKenna LeVan had another outstanding half for the Lions. After allowing the initial goal, LeVan gained her composure and finished the first half with five saves keeping Albright in the game.
Audrey Solt, Alyssa DeVita, Haley Denuto and Nyla Callahan all recorded one first half shot for Albright looking to spark the Lions attack. 

The Mustangs added to their lead in the second half scoring twice more making it a 3-0 game. The 3-0 score would hold until the final whistle giving Stevenson the win. 

Despite the loss, LeVan was very active in net making 10 saves. For LeVan it is the fourth game this season where she has recorded at least 10 saves. 

As a team the Lions fired eight shots total with four in each half. Au. Solt and DeVita led the way for the Lions producing two shots each.

The Albright women's soccer team will remain at home to host Alvernia in another MAC Commonwealth showdown. The game is set for a 7 p.m. start from Shirk Stadium on Tuesday, October 17.
