IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Albright women's basketball (3-6) played in their first game this afternoon since last weekend squaring off against Immaculata (5-7) on the road. The Mighty Macs took todays game 73-58 over the Lions.
For Albright, todays game marked the fourth straight road game and the first visit to Immaculata since November of 2018.
The Lions found themselves behind at halftime trailing the Mighty Macs 40-24. First-year guard
Gigi Serrano paced the Albright offense in the first half scoring nine points.
Serrano went 3-5 from the floor including a three for the nine points while hauling in five rebounds.
Orianna Edmond scored six first half points and grabbed two rebounds in a strong opening half for the second year forward.
Albright looked to climb back into the game in the second half but the Immaculata offense proved to be too much to overcome. The Mighty Macs held a 20-point advantage heading into the final frame and were able to close out the game winning 73-58.
Despite the loss, Serrano continues to play a strong brand of basketball. Serrano picked up her second double-double of the season this afternoon leading the team in points with 15 and rebounds with 10. Defensively, Serrano picked up three steals and two blocks rounding out a strong day.
Julia Zakovitch continues to put the ball in the basket collecting her fifth game this season this afternoon scoring 12 or more points. Zakovitch ended today's game with 12 points on 55% shooting while recording six rebounds.
Every Lion that saw action today recorded at least one offensive rebound leading to 17 offensive rebounds as a team.

The Lions will head to Montclair State Tournament taking place on December 30 and 31. On the 30 Albright will face Arcadia at 2:00 p.m. and will then face host Montclair State on the 31 at 12 p.m.
