READING, Pa. - The Albright College men's basketball team (9-14, 6-9 MAC Commonwealth) was in action today on their home floor and protected home court against Stevenson University (11-12, 5-9) winning the game 76-66 for their second win in a row.
Prior to the start of today's game Seniors
Zyon Grant and
Robert Mangum were honored for all their hard work and dedication to the Albright men's basketball program.
Three quick buckets from Albright got us off and running in today's game shooting the ball well early. As the half wore on neither team could separate themselves from the other on the scoreboard.
With under 10 minutes to play in the first half a
Qadir Mitchell layup put the Lions in front by two. From there Stevenson went on a 16-10 run to take a 37-32 lead at the break.
It was all Albright in the second half coming out of the locker room playing inspired team basketball. Although the home side trailed early in the half, you could feel the momentum begin to change. A 7-0 burst midway through the half began to give the Lions some breathing room putting them up by eight.
Clutch free throw shooting down the stretch for
Chris Kouemi, Grant and Mangum extended the lead to double digits with under five minutes to play. Albright closed out the game from there earning the home victory over Stevenson, 76-66.
Eric Chamberlain scored a game high 19 points and recorded two steals. With one more steal during next week's game, Chamberlain will break the most steals in a single season in program history.
Grant finished the game with 15 points draining three three's and collected four rebounds.
Jeremiah Stanton scored 10 points and hauled in a career high 5 rebounds.
Mangum did a little bit of everything going for six points, 10 rebounds and three assists.

Rick Ferry, today's win is No. 300 in his coaching career at Albright.
