Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Ursinus at Home

The Albright women’s lacrosse team was in action today on a cold February afternoon and fell to the visiting bears by a final score of 15-7.

READING, Pa. - The Albright women's lacrosse team (1-2) was in action this afternoon and dropped a home non conference matchup against Ursinus (1-1) by a final score of 15-7.

Ursinus struck first in today's game, jumping out to a 3-0 advantage.

With eight minutes to go in the first period, Chloe Fornoff scored the Lions first goal of the game. The goal was Fornoff's third goal of the season.

After the Bears stretched their lead to 7-1 the Lions scored two quick goals to answer. Ashleigh Tortorice scored unassisted and Kayte Moist accepted a pass from Abbie Moist and deposited the ball in the back of the net.

The Lions scored three straight goals in the third period to cut their deficit to 11-6.

Tortorice and Fornoff both scored their second of the game during the third period. Lauren China found the back of the net in the frame as well for her eight goal of the season.

The fourth quarter went the way of Urinsus who scored four times in the fourth period to pull away from the Lions.

Tortorice and Fornoff scored twice in today's game  to lead the way for the Lions. Kyra Lycett collected six ground balls good for a new career high. 

Up Next: 
The Albright women's lacrosse team will head back out on the road on Wednesday, March 1 traveling to Elizabethtown College. The game will begin at 6 p.m.
