FREDERICK, MD. - The Albright College baseball team (0-8) was in action at Hood College (9-3) and dropped a pair of seven inning games to the host Blazers.
GAME 1: L, 6-1 (7 Innings)
Hood College jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and later led 5–0 at the end of the fifth inning.
Reece Adam collected the first hit of the day for the Lions, singling to left field in the top of the second inning.
In the sixth inning Tommy Lewman roped a double down the left field line to give the Lions a runner in scoring position. Roman Berretta was due up next and delivered an RBI single to left field that scored Lewman from second. Jack Gilmer and John O'Connor later walked in the inning to load the bases but Albrigtht could not take advantage of the opportunity.
Hood plated one more run in the bottom of the sixth to win the first game of the double header 6-1.
GAME 2: L, 4-3 (7 Innings)
Hayden Paukstis got the start in game two for the Lions and had a strong outing overall. Paukstis got through 6 ⅓ innings of work giving up four earned runs.
A two out rally got the scoring started for the Lions in the top of the 4th inning. O'Connor started the rally with a single and the following batter Eddie Meredith was hit by a pitch to place runners at first and second.
Nick Barton delivered a single to center field to plating O'Connor from second base to tie the game at 1-1. Albright took the lead on the next batter when Deklyn Marks reached on a fielder's choice and an ensuing errant throw on the play by Hood scored Meredith.
The Lions added to their 2-1 lead in the top of the 6th inning. O'Connor added another single to reach base and later came around to score on a wild pitch. The Lions led 3-1 after six innings.
Hood College was able to put a rally together in the bottom of the 7th inning to steal the game and walk off on the Lions.
