ARLINGTON, Va. - The Albright College women's tennis team (2-0 Spring Season) is now perfect during the spring portion of the schedule taking today's match over Marymount (0-2 Spring Season) 5-4.
The Lions singles winners today were Alex Pancu, Michelle Timothy, Jacqualine Manikas and Megan Misurelli.
Pancu won her #1 singles match 6-3, 5-7, 10-3 giving Pancu her second win of the spring 2023 season. After dropping the second set, Pancu remained cool, calm and collected and dominated in the third set to win the match.
Timothy was in action during #2 singles play and won her match handedly over the opposition 6-0, 5-0 (retired) picking up the second Lions singles win of the day.
Manikas played a close first set but found a way to win the opening set 7-5. The gritty opening set win propelled Manikas to victory in the singles #3 match winning the second set in dominating fashion, 6-1.
Misurelli added another win for the Lions in the singles #6 match winning 2-6, 6-4, 10-6. After dropping the opening set Misurelli knew exactly what she needed to do and did just that. Misurelli rallied to win sets two to take home the victory.
Pancu and Timothy teamed up in #1 doubles and won convincingly over Marymount 8-0.
