READING, PA. - The Albright College baseball team (1-11, 0-6 MAC Commonwealth) wrapped up their weekend series with York College (Pa.) (8-7, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth) and dropped a pair of games to the Spartans this afternoon.
GAME 1: L, 13-6
Seven runs combined came across the plate in the first inning with the Spartans holding a slim 4-3 advantage after one.
Albright's first two batters reached via errors and were knocked in by a Roman Berretta triple. Beretta laced a triple in the outfield and got the Lions on the board in the bottom of the first.
Jack Gilmer brought home Reece Adam who reached via hit by pitch on an RBI groundout for the Lions third run of the inning.
Albright trailed 7-3 heading into the bottom of the fourth looking to climb back in the game. Gilmer and Ethan Karel led off the bottom of the fourth with back to back doubles. Eddie Meredith closed the deficit to 6-5 scoring Karel from third on an RBI groundout.
In the fifth inning, Berretta recorded a single for his second hit of the game and would later come around to score on an Adam double.
York College tacked on more runs in the later innings to take game one from the Lions.
GAME 2: L, 13-2
The Spartans carried over their hot bats from game one into game two plating four runs in the first inning. York College would lead 9-0 after four innings of play.
In the bottom of the sixth inning Zander Tesoriere led off the inning with a single and later came around to score on a Domenic Borelli single to right field. Karel would plate another run for the Lions, singling to shortstop that scored Jonathan Byers who reached on a single of his own.
In game two Nick Barton and Tesoriere both collected two hits to lead the way for Albright offensively.

Albright will remain at home for a matchup with non-conference opponent Central Pennsylvania College on Tuesday, March 21. First pitch is set for a 3:30 start time.
