READING, Pa. - The Albright women's lacrosse team (4-3) came into today's game riding a three game win streak but saw their streak come to end on Saturday afternoon falling to Swarthmore (6-0) 14-9 in non-conference action.
Kyra Lycett started the game off for Albright scoring her eight goal of the season giving the Lions an early 1-0 lead. Both teams were strong defensively in the first period only allowing a total of three goals combined. At the end of one, Swarthmore led 2-1.
Kayte Moist and Abbie Moist scored a goal each in the early moments of the second period to tie the game up at 3-3. Swarthmore extended their lead to 6-5 at halftime. Sarah Chernis and Lauren China were also credited with goals in the second period for the Lions.
Coming out of halftime, Swarthmore scored four goals holding a 10-5 advantage. After three periods of play the Lions trailed, 11-7. Chernis buried her second goal of the game in the third period and Brianna Kung scored a man-down goal with :45 seconds left looking to spark the Lions second comeback in as many games.
China and Chernis scored early on in the fourth to make it an 11-9 Swarthomore lead. From there the Garnet did a good job of slowing down the ferocious Albright attack to head home with the 14-9 win.
Chole Fornoff collected three ground balls and was credited with five draw controls. Lycett was also given credit for five draw controls won of her own.

The Lions will be on the road for their next three games kicking off the three game road trip against DeSales University on Wednesday, March 22. First draw is set for a 4 p.m. start.
