Women’s Tennis Drops First Match of Spring Season to Bryn Mawr

The Albright women’s tennis team dropped their first match of the 2023 Spring Season this afternoon to Bryn Mawr 5-4.

READING, Pa. - The Albright College women's tennis team (2-1 Spring Season) and Bryn Mawr (3-0 Spring Season) were two evenly matched teams but in the end the Owls edged out the Lions 5-4.

Doubles were played first today and Lions won two out of three doubles matches.

The tandem of Alex Pancu and Michelle Timothy were together again and dominated the opposition 8-2. The Lion duo is now 3-0 together during the Spring Season.

Picking up the second doubles win of the afternoon was the pairing of Macie Littleton and Megan Colaneri. The match was tied 7-7 and sent to a tiebreak where Littleton and Colaneri won the tiebreak 7-2 to take the match.

Pancu and Timothy both won their singles matches in addition to the doubles win.

Pancu battled Bryant Wynn from Bryn Mawr and prevailed in the end 6-4, 6-4. The win keeps Pancu undefeated in the spring at a perfect 3-0.

Timothy was dominant today, not dropping a game to the opponent. Timothy won both sets 6-0, 6-0 on the way to maintaining her blemish free record of 3-0 in the spring.
