WILLIAMSPORT, PA. - The Albright College softball team (2-10, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) was right back in action after playing two games yesterday. Today, Albright squared off with Lycoming (12-4, 4-0 MAC Freedom) and dropped a pair of games to the Warriors.
GAME 1: L, 4-1
Lycoming struck first in game one scoring four runs after three innings of play.
Heather Pomante singled in the third inning for one of her two hits in game one. Pomante singled again in the seventh inning which eventually led to a Lions run.
In the away half of the seventh inning, Jadelyn Van Winkle doubled to left field. Pomante was up next adding her second hit of the game which allowed Van Winkle to score on a miscue by the Lycoming defense.
Van Winkle and Pomante each had two hits for Albright in game one. Kathryn Baptiste and Madison Lasko each added one hit for the Lions.
GAME 2: L, 8-0 (6 INN.)
The second batter of game two for Albright was Kathryn Baptiste who singled down the right field line for the Lions. Baptiste has hit safely in the past three out of four games including adding two hits this afternoon across the two games.
Lycoming carried their momentum from game one into game two and opened up a 6-0 lead after four innings.
Kaitlyn Aasheim picked up a hit for Albright in the sixth, lacing a single to left field. The first year pitcher/third baseman now has a hit in her last two out of three games for Albright.

Albright softball will wrap up their busy week this weekend on Saturday, March 31 when the Lions head to Wilkes for a doubleheader. Game 1 will start at 1 p.m. and game 2 will begin roughly 30 minutes after the conclusion of game 1.
