Baseball Drops A Pair to Lebanon Valley

The Albright College baseball closed out their three game series against Lebanon Valley College dropping both games of the double header from McGill Field.

ANNVILLE, PA.  - The Albright College baseball team (3-18, 1-12 MAC Commonwealth) wrapped up their weekend series with Lebanon Valley College (13-10-1, 9-1) on the road on Saturday afternoon dropping both games of the double header to the Dutchmen.

GAME 1: L, 12-0

Lebanon Valley scratched across three runs through the first three innings taking a 3-0 lead after four innings of play.

Eddie Meredith produced the first hit of the afternoon in the top of the second inning. Meredith singled up the middle and also stole second base in the inning. Deklyn Marks matched Meredith in the away half of the third inning, ripping a single and recording a stolen base.

The Dutchmen scored nine times in the fifth inning to break the game open and ultimately taking game one over the Lions.

Tommy Lewman recorded the only extra base hit of game one for Albright, doubling into the left-center gap in the top of the fifth inning.

GAME 2: L, 4-3

Albright took advantage of sloppy play from the Dutchmen to plate the first run of game two. Reece Adam led off and reached second on a throwing error from the Dutchmen catcher. Meredith followed a Lewman groundout with an RBI single that scored Adam.

Meredith now owns a eight game hit streak recording at least one hit in both games today. The eight game hit streak is the longest by any Albright player this season.

Marks came up with runners at first and second in the fourth inning. Marks smoked a double down the left field line that rolled into the corner allowing Roman Berretta to score, who reached on a walk.

The Dutchmen took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on a three run homerun, 3-2.

The Lions tied it back up in the top of the fifth inning. A two out walk to John O'Connor was followed by a Berretta single that placed runners at the corners. Reece Adam knocked home O'Connor with a single to left field.

The long ball proved costly for Albright in game two. LVC took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a Jace Fetterman homerun giving the Dutchmen the 4-3 victory.

UP NEXT:
Albright will return home to welcome cross town rival Alvernia to town on Tuesday, April 4. Albright and Alvernia will play two seven inning double headers starting at 12 p.m.
