Women’s Tennis Cruises to Victory over Eastern

The Albright women’s tennis team went on the road to Eastern this afternoon and dominated the Eagles 8-1 on their way to their first MAC Commonwealth win of the Spring Season.

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - The Albright College women's tennis team (4-4, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth Spring Season) cruised to an 8-1 victory this afternoon over Eastern (2-5, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) dominating on their way to their first MAC Commonwealth win of the Spring season.

All six Albright singles players won their respective matches this afternoon.

Alex Pancu was back in her number one singles spot and did not miss a beat. Pancu won easily this afternoon, only dropping a single game taking the match 6-1, 6-0.

Michelle Timothy had a little trouble in her first set but came out on top 7-5 (7-3), 6-0 for the Lions. Jacqualine Manikas won her match in three sets, dropping the first set and roaring all the way back to take the match in the third and final set.

Megan Colaneri, Macie Littleton and Isabella Tice all won their matches in dominating fashion. Colaneri won 6-1, 6-0, Littleton won 6-1, 6-2 and Tice rounded out the singles matches winning her match 6-1, 6-0.

The women's tennis team will play two matches this Saturday, April 15. The women's tennis team will be on the road for both matches playing against Hood College at 11:00 a.m. and squaring off against McDaniel at 3:00 p.m.
