READING, Pa. - The Albright men's golf team won the 2023 version of "The Match" over Widener in windy and overall tough conditions at the Berkshire Country Club on Monday afternoon besting Widener 324-397.
Sam Elsen and
Ben Egin tied for first with a 76. Elsen and Egin went to a playoff where Egin took home the Individual Title after two playoff holes.

Sam Elsen and
Ben Egin came in at five over par both putting together strong rounds in unfavorable conditions. The Lions had five of the top six golfers in today's match vs Widener.
Evan Twyman finished fourth overall and third for the Lions shooting a 85 on the course today.
Rounding out the day for Albright was
Nick Smerek who shot an 87 just two strokes off of Twyman while
Colby Gaylor shot a 93 concluding the very impressive day on the course for the Lions.

UP NEXT:
The Albright men's golf team will now begin to prepare for the MAC Golf Championships beginning on April 21 at the P.B. DYE Golf Club. Friday the 21st will serve as a practice day and Saturday (April 22) and Sunday (April 23) will serve as the two days for competition.
