READING, PA. - The Albright College women's tennis team (5-5, 2-4 MAC Commonwealth Spring Season) was locked in an exciting match with Alvernia (4-5, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth) on Tuesday afternoon and was narrowly edged out by the Golden Wolves 5-4.
Prior to today's match Alex Pancu was named MAC Commonwealth women's tennis player of the week for going 4-0 in her two singles and two doubles matches last week against Hood and Eastern. In today's match Pancu was no match for her opponent winning 6-3, 6-2. Pancu is now 10-0 in the spring looking to cap off the perfect spring season this Saturday against Messiah.
Michelle Timothy won her singles match today leaving little doubt winning 6-4. 6-2. Isabella Tice's match went the full three sets where Tice ended up prevailing in the end taking the match 3-6, 6-4, 10-7.
The combination of Pancu and Timothy has been dominant this Spring and today was no different. Pancu and Timothy won the number one doubles match in a tie break 8-7 (7-4).
