YORK, PA. - The Albright College Softball team (3-29, 0-16 MAC Commonwealth) wrapped up their 2023 season on Monday afternoon on the road at York College (Pa.)(14-18, 7-5 MAC Commonwealth) for a pair of games against the Spartans. The Spartans took both games of the double header over Albright.
GAME 1: L, 12-0
York started game one by scoring one run in the first and carrying a 7-0 lead over Albright after four innings of play.
Heather Pomante laced a double to center field for Albright in game one giving Pomante confidence at the plate heading into game two.
The York pitching staff did a good job of keeping the Albright bats at bay. Madison Lasko also got on base for the Lions earning a walk in the first inning.
GAME 2: L, 10-1
Albright struck first in game one and held a 1-0 lead going into the bottom of the third inning.
In the third inning the Spartans scored five times and would go on to score five more in the fifth inning to win the game going the way over Albright.
Pomante carried her hot bat into game two going 2-2. Pomante ends her 2023 campaign on a three game hit streak for Albright.
In the first inning Lasko reached on a fielder's choice and would later come around to score on a Kathryn Baptiste RBI single.
