BRYN ATHYN – PA. The Albright women's soccer team (0-1) opened their 2023 season on the road against Bryn Athyn and fell to the hosts by a final score of 2-0.

Tonight's game marked the first game for the women's soccer team in the Kyle Martyn era. Martyn was named the head women's soccer coach at Albright in early August.

The first 45 minutes of action featured no scoring from either side but both teams had their fair amount of chances to strike first. Five minutes into the opening half, Albright had a good look from Haley Denuto but the attempt was turned away from the Bryn Athyn netminder. Denuto led the way with two shots in the opening half and both of which were on frame.

The Lions fired five total first half shots forcing the Bryn Athyn into making three first half saves.

Bryn Athyn was able to break the scoreless draw in 58^th minute of play. The 1-0 score would hold until the 78^th minute when Bryn Athyn added an insurance goal and ultimately went on to win by a 2-0 final.

First-year, Audrey Solt looked to spark the Lion offense firing four total shots in the game. Of the four shots, two were on target in Solt's first collegiate game. Gianna Glembocki earned the start today and recorded two shots in her first go around at the collegiate level.

In total the Lions shot 13 times with six on goal but were unable to beat the Bryn Athyn goalkeeper who made six total saves on the day.
