READING, PA. - The Albright women's soccer team (1-1) was in action on Sunday night in their home opener and protected home field, downing Rosemont (0-2) by a final score of 4-0.
The Lions scored early and often in today's game led by forward Alyssa DeVita who tallied two goals and one assist in the game. For DeVita the two goals and one assist are the first of her Albright career. First year Audrey Solt was active all day for Albright recording a goal and two assists on the day, also her first points as an Albright Lion.
DeVita's first goal came in the 4th minute of play and was followed closely by a goal off a free kick from Audrey Solt. Solt took the free kick from 40 yards out, saw it bounce once in the box and then into the top left corner for the Lions second goal of the first half.
The Lions dominated the first half of play taking 11 shots to Rosemont's two. Albright led 2-0 at the end of 45 minutes.
Albright added to their lead in the second half scoring two more times. DeVita scored her second of the day off a beautiful ball from Solt into the six yard box that found the head of Dev=Vita. DeVita rose to the occasion and buried the header.
Just three minutes later in the 61st minute of play, Maggie Williams scored for the Lions marking her first career goal for the Lions. Williams collected a loose ball in the box and deposited it in the back of the net to make it a 4-0 lead.
The final score would hold until the final whistle as the game was never in doubt seeing the Lions take home a convincing 4-0 victory over the Ravens.
In total the Lions finished with 15 total shots, 10 of which were on goal and won the corner battle 5-2.
McKenna Levan earned the start this evening and kept a clean sheet making three saves on night for her first shutout of the season.
