READING, PA. - The Albright women's soccer team (3-4-1) was in action today on a rainy Saturday afternoon in Reading, Pa. The Lions hosted the King's College Monarchs (3-3-1) and dropped the match 1-0 to the visitors.
After a back and forth opening 10 minutes of the game, King's College (Pa.) struck first taking a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute of play.
Albright looked to get on the board in the first half testing the Monarch back line. Albright took three shots in the first half, all of which on target forcing the Monarch goalie into making tough saves.
King's took a 1-0 lead into halftime after 45 minutes of play.
Albright's best opportunity to score came in the 51st minute. Emily Sellers made a run down the left side of the field and blasted a shot that hit the post and bounced away from the goal.
King's held off Albright for the final 39 minutes to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Lions.
Sellers, Audrey Solt, Maggie Williams and Mackenzie Sowers all recorded one shot each for the Lions.
