READING, PA. - The Albright women's soccer team (3-5-1) was in action at home on Wednesday for the fourth straight game squaring off against Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom member institution the Delaware Valley Aggies (5-4-1). The Aggies bested the Lions by a final score of 2-0.
In the first half of play the Lions did a great job of countering Delaware Valley. On multiple occasions Albright was able to get numbers behind the Delaware Valley defense.
The forward line combination of Nyla Challan, Alyssa DeVita, Audrey Solt and Haley Denuto kept the pressure on the Aggie defense for much of the first half. The quartet combined for six shots but were unable to get one past the Delaware Valley Goalkeeper.
The Aggies scored twice before the first 45 minutes of play were over taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Albright earned a total of 11 corners in the match keeping the pressure on throughout the final 45 minutes of play. Albright was unable to convert their corner opportunities into goals despite the strong offensive play.
The Aggies closed out the game in the second half leaving Albright with a 2-0 victory.
McKenna LeVan came on at halftime of the game and made five saves without conceding a goal in her 45 minutes of game action.
As a team the Lions finished with 11 shots led by Audrey Solt with four. DeVita and Denuto each finished with two shots for the Lions.
