READING, Pa. - The Albright women's volleyball team (10-3, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) played in their first home Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth match of the season tonight against the Hood College Blazers (5-10, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth). Hood won tonight's match 3-0 over Albright.
Hood jumped on the Lions early in set one racing out to a 7-0 lead forcing Albright into calling a timeout. Hood used their opening match spurt to their advantage taking the first set and a 1-0 lead in the match.
The second and third sets went back and forth throughout their entirety seeing neither side gain a sizable lead.
Despite the back and forth play, the Blazers were able to slip by the Lions taking the second set by two points and winning the third set by three points.
Neve Straff led Albright's offense with six kills, nine digs and one ace.
Rachel Etim finished with three blocks defensively and Kyra Lycett chipped in with eight digs of her own.

Albright returns back to the Bollman Center on Thursday, September 28 against Penn State Brandywine. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start time from Reading, Pa.
