READING, Pa. – Men's Soccer (7-7-1, 0-3-1 MAC Commonwealth) hosted their second MAC Commonwealth game of the season against Hood (4-9-2, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth). The Blazers would go on to win 2-1 following a physical 90 minutes of play.
The game served as Colorectal Cancer Awareness night in which the team worked to raise money for cancer research. The team has raised over $500 so far for the cause.
The Blazers started the scoring early and picked up the game's first goal in the third minute of play.
The Lions would answer back in the first half with
Martin Ramsay tying the game in the 21
st minute with his fourth goal of the season following a fantastic pass from
Christian Bowles.
Joining Ramsay and Bowles in a strong offensive effort was
John Villano who registered a team high six shots.
Following a 1-1 tie going into halftime the Blazers would score the game's final goal in the 52
nd minute of play.
The Lions appeared to score a game tying goal in the final minutes but was ultimately waived off due to a close offsides call.
