DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Men's soccer (7-4) went on the road for their second match of the year against a MAC Freedom member institution in Delaware Valley (8-3-2). The Aggies broke the 2-2 tie in the 66
th minute of play to win the game 3-2 over the Lions.
Albright will play three MAC Freedom opponents total this season with Delaware Valley being the second of the three.
Christian Bowles scored the game's first goal in the 22
nd minute putting the Lions up 1-0. Delaware Valley scored the games next two goal to go up 2-1 early in the second half.
Bowles tallied his second goal of the game to tie the game at 2-2. Both of Bowles's goals were assisted by
Gael Velazquez. Velazquez now has two such games this season having two assists in a single game.
Three minutes after Bowles second goal, Delaware Valley got a friendly whistle earning a penalty kick and would go on to convert from the penalty spot to go up 3-2.
The Lions looked to find the equalizer late in the game having three shots total in the span of 15 seconds in the 85
th minute. The Aggie defense was up to the challenge and turned away the late Albright push.
After two more goals tonight, Bowles is up to 11 on the season. The sophomore has three games this season including tonight scoring two goals in a game. Additionally, Bowles has scored in every game but three this season.
Albright won the corner kick battle and had more shots than Delaware Valley tonight.
Martin Ramsay finished with a game seven shots for the Lions.
