ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Albright women's basketball team (9-15, 6-7 MAC Commonwealth) went on the road squaring off against Eastern (10-13, 6-7 MAC Commonwealth) on Tuesday evening. The Eagles avenged the earlier season loss to the Lions winning tonight 57-49.
MAC COMMONWEALTH STANDINGS
Despite tonight's loss, Albright remains alive in the MAC Commonwealth playoff race. As it stands, there is a three-way tie for the fourth and final spot between Albright, Eastern and Alvernia all sitting at 6-7 in conference play. The final spot will be determined this Saturday (Feb. 17) when the MAC Commonwealth regular season schedule concludes.
CJ Apistar led the way with nine points and eight rebounds in tonight's game. The eight rebounds tonight was one off Apistar's career high for the Lions starting point guard.
Mackenzie Dover was second on the team in scoring tonight with eight points. Dover added five rebounds and two assists to her overall stat line this evening.
Albright was up at the half 28-24 in a tightly contested contest.
Eastern began to pull away from Albright in the third quarter outscoring the Lions 20-8 in the frame. In the end the deficit was too much to overcome for Albright never getting back within eight points of Eastern for the remainder of the game.
Orianna Edmond chipped in with seven points, five rebounds, two steals and a block.
Julia Zakovitch and
Jacey Petruno each scored six points on 2-4 shooting from the floor.
Shakyla Mayo and
Kenedy Cooper both had five points off the bench for Albright. Mayo added four rebounds while Cooper registered two rebounds and a steal.

The Lions will return home for a virtual playoff game against Widener this Saturday Feb. 17 needing a win over The Pride. The game is set for a 1 p.m. start from the Bollman Center.
