Brenden Stuhltrager Crowned MAC Champion in 100 Fly; Breaks MAC Record

Stuhltrager turned in a time of 49.42 to break the Middle Atlantic Conference record for the 100-yard butterfly.

YORK, Pa. – Brenden Stuhltrager continues his impressive run at the 2024 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) 2024 Swimming Championships. Stuhltrager was crowned champion in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.42. The outstanding time is good for the new conference, meet and team record.

FULL DAY TWO RESULTS

Stuhltrager is competing in his first career MAC Swimming Championships and has performed like a veteran thus far. Stuhltrager found himself on the podium for the second time in two events winning the 100 fly on Friday evening. The first-year standout breezed through the water winning the 100 fly by nearly a whole second over the field marking the first lion to win the event since 2019.

The 100-yard butterfly time of 49.42 is the fastest in MAC, meet and Albright program history for the event. Stuhltrager beat out Bryce Schaffer's time of 49.52 in 2019. Schaffer also held the previous records in the meet and MAC. The 100 fly win comes on the heels of Stuhltragers bronze medal in the 50 free yesterday evening.

Anthony Laite took to the pool in the 200-yard freestyle and turned in a time of 1:48.16 narrowly missing out on his second podium finish of the 2024 MAC Swimming Championships. On day one of the championships, Laite finished on the podium in 8th place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:53.27.
