YORK, Pa. – Brenden Stuhltrager concluded the 2024 MAC men's Swimming Championships in style on Sunday evening with a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. The time of 46.53 tied for second in the event. For his efforts Stuhltrager was named the 2023-2024 Rookie of the Year.

Stuhltrager wrapped up his debut in the MAC Championships securing his third podium finish in the 100-yard freestyle. With the third podium finish, Stuhltrager locked up Rookie of the Year honors for the Lions. Stuhltrager is the first Albright Rookie of the Year recipient since 2021 when Devin Metzger won the award.

Stuhltrager went a perfect three for three in earning medals this weekend. Stuhltrager was crowned MAC champion in the 100-yard butterfly breaking the meet, conference and school record in the process. In the 50-yard freestyle, Stuhltrager took home the bronze medal with a time of 20.92 on Thursday (Feb. 15) night.

In all, Stuhltrager concludes his MAC Championships with a gold, silver and bronze medal and the new conference record holder in the 100-yard butterfly. Stuhltrager earned 86.5 individual points on the weekend.

Anthony Laite looked to earn his second podium finish of the weekend and did just that in the 1650-yard freestyle, the longest event of the weekend. Laite earned the podium finish by finishing in eighth in the event with a time of 17:08.79.

Laite had a successful weekend at the 2024 MAC Swimming Championships earning two podium finishes out of three events swam. Laite finished eighth in the 500-yard freestyle on Thursday night (Feb. 15) with a time of 4:53.27.
