Men’s Basketball Caps Regular Season on Senior Day Against No. 14 Widener

The Albright men’s basketball closed the doors on the 2023-2024 season this afternoon on Senior Day playing host to No. 14 Widener. The Pride won today 82-65 over the Lions.

READING, Pa. – The Albright men's basketball team (11-14, 4-10 MAC Commonwealth) concluded their season this afternoon on Senior Day welcoming No. 14 Widener (22-3, 12-2 MAC Commonwealth) to town. The Pride took today's game over the Lions 82-65.

Prior to the start of today's game, the Albright men's basketball team took the time to recognize their graduating student-athletes for all their hard work and contributions to the program over the years. The graduating members of the men's basketball team are Bryan Gambrill, Isaac LaPierre, Robert Mangum and Dylan McGinley. Including today's game, the quartet has combined to appear in 255 game for Albright.

Eric Chamberlain finished with a game high 19 points in 31 minutes of game action. The junior guard added five rebounds and three steals in another strong game from Chamberlain.

Bryan Gambrill earned the start today and turned in a career high 14 points in his last game as an Albright Lion. Gambrill shot an impressive 6-9 from the floor including a three pointer and added three rebounds for good measure.

Robert Mangum capped off his Albright career going for 11 points making two threes while adding seven rebounds, two assists and a block.

Widener and Albright played to an even first half seeing The Pride take a two-point lead into halftime. Albright led by as many as nine in the first half but The Pride closed the first half on a 17-6 run.

Albright found themselves in front by four with 11 minutes to play at 50-46. However, the second half played similarly to the first where Widener closed the game on an impressive run. The Pride turned up the heat and closed the game on a 36-15 run over the final 11 minutes. With today's win, Widener is now the #1 seed in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs.

Phanique Dupree had a nice game for the Lions off the bench scoring eight points and collecting five rebounds. Dupree was also credited with two blocks in today's game.

Dylan McGinley concluded his Albright career going for two points and three rebounds.
