READING, Pa. – The Albright women's lacrosse team (0-3) welcomed the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown (1-0) to town this weekend to face off in a non-conference matchup. This matchup was the home opener for the Lions and season opener for the Blue Jays.
This first half was highly contested between both teams with the score being tied 8-8 at the half.
Senior
Kayte Moist had a monster first half scoring a total of six points on six goals. The six goals for Moist tied a career high. Moist also recovered three ground balls to add to her first half stats. Sophomore
Zoe Dicks also capped on two goals for herself in the first half.
After scoring two goals in the third quarter the Blue Jays had a one goal lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Blue Jays struck first to start the fourth scoring two goals in the first four minutes. Dicks and Moist continued their dominance from the first half both contributing a goal in the fourth for the Lions. The offense of the Blue Jays was too much for the Lions to handle as they managed to take control for the remainder of the game.
Moist led the Lions in points and ground balls this afternoon scoring seven points all on goals and recording six ground balls tagging along four caused turnovers. Dicks finished the game with three goals of her own.
Senior
Brianna Kung finished the game recording four points on one goal and three assists.
