ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Albright women's tennis team (2-1 '24 spring) suffered their first set back of the spring season to Lebanon Valley (5-0 '24 spring) in a closely contested match. The Dutchmen outlasted Albright in the end winning the match 6-3.
In todays match, four of the nine singles and doubles matches went to a third set tie break.
Alex Pancu remained perfect on the spring improving to 3-0. Pancu delivered a win in number one singles play winning the match in a decisive third set. Pancu won the first set 7-5 and then dropped the second set 3-6 sending the match to a winner take all set. In the end Pancu prevailed winning the match with a 12-10 third set win.
Elicia Aponte picked up the Lions second singles win of the day in #3 singles play. Aponte continued her run of strong play with a three set win this afternoon. Aponte dropped the first set but responded brilliantly winning the next two sets in dominant fashion 6-3, 6-3.
Valeria Sanchez and
Alaina Smith were locked up in a tight match in #3 doubles. Sanchez and Smith went to a tie break in the match and took home the win with a 8-7 (7-4) victory.

Albright will return home for a non-conference match against Marymount on Saturday, March 23. The match will begin at 11:00 a.m. from the Albright Tennis Courts.
