Baseball Falls in Non-Conference Game to Neumann

The Lions have played four games in the last three days, three of which coming on their home field. Neumann took today’s game over the Lions winning 11-0 at Kelchner Field.

READING, Pa. -  The Albright College baseball team (4-13) played in their fourth game this afternoon in the last three days hosting Neumann (9-8) at Kelchner Field. Albright looked to make it two wins in a row after beating Muhlenberg 12-5 yesterday but fell to the visiting Knights 11-0.

Yesterday, the Lions picked up their first true road win of the season against Muhlenberg winning the game 12-5 over the Mules. Colby Yaich turned in a quality start picking up his first career win while Trey Smith added a career high three RBIs leading the Lions to victory.

Roman Berretta reached on a single in both at bats collecting two hits for the Lions finishing 2-4 at the plate. Berretta has tallied at least one hit in his past four games and is now up to 19 total hits this season.

Brendan Stuhltrager collected another hit this afternoon going 1-3 at the plate. The first year reached base via a single. Stuhltrager stole his sixth base of the year keeping his perfect mark on the base paths going this season now at 6-6 in steals.

Neumann scored four runs early and tacked on seven runs over the last five innings to take the non-conference game over the Lions.  

As a team the Lions finished with two walks. Recording a walk in today's game was Chris Gorla and Zander Tesoriere.

The Lions will be right back at it at Kelchner Field tomorrow afternoon hosting Wilson College. The game is set for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch.
