Women’ Lacrosse Cruises to 18-4 Win over Eastern

In a game where Kayte Moist became the 10th member of the Albright women’s lacrosse team, the Lions dominated Eastern winning wire to wire 18-4 over Eastern.

READING, Pa. – The women's lacrosse team (2-13, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth) was in complete control from start to finish dominating Eastern (2-13, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth) on their way to a 18-4 home victory. The win is the 7th straight for Albright over Eastern.

Kayte Moist needed to two points in today's game to become the 10th member of the 100-point club in women's lacrosse history. Moist secured her spot in the Albright record books five minutes into the first period. The senior attacker assisted on the Lions first goal of the game and scored the teams second goal of the game for two points and 100 in her career. Overall, Moist finished with three points adding an assist later on.

Nine different Lions scored a goal this afternoon led by Zoe Dicks career high four goals. The four goals marks the second game this season that Dicks has scored at least three goals in a game.

Brianna Kung and Sophia Hess each scored three times. The three-goal total is a career high both Lions. Kung scored all three of her goal in the first half while Hess scored once in the first half and helped to put the game away with two goals in the second half.

Albright never trailed in todays game jumping out to a 4-0 lead. The lead grew for the Lions to 9-3 midway through the second period. Lucy Moreland scored with less than a minute to go in the second period to give the Lions a 13-2 halftime lead. The goal for Moreland was one of two on the day.

The Lions closed out the game in the second half scoring five goals to Eastern's two. The 18 goals for Albright are a new season high surpassing the previous high of 17 earlier this season.  

Rounding out the goals for the Lions was Sarah Chernis, Katelyn Patrick and Bridgette Asher. The goal for Asher was the first career goal for the first year Lion.

Jocelyn McLaughlin notched her first career point on an assist. McLaughlin's assist came in the fourth period feeding Dicks in woman-up situation.

Olivia Ball, Kaila Clark and Abby Hudson all tallied three ground balls in todays game.

The Lions next game will be on the road at Stevenson taking place on Wednesday, April 24. The game is set for a 7:00 p.m. start from Owings Mills, Md.
