READING Pa – With the school year and spring sports winding down, Softball (7-30, 1-13 MAC Commonwealth) played their final series of the season at home against Hood College (13-23, 4-10 MAC Commonwealth) in an early afternoon double header.
Aliza Langlois picked up a pair of hits in game one to go along with a run scored. The first year found her rhythm and showed a lot of promise at the plate as the season concluded recording multi-hit games in three of the team's last seven games.
Also recording multiple hits in game one was senior
Veronica Heckman going a perfect two for two at the plate. The "Big Dawg" ended her senior season batting a solid .279 to go along with an impressive .357 OBP.
Jadelyn Van Winkle Started game one pitching four innings bringing her season total to over 100 innings pitched at 100.2. Van Winkle will enter her senior year next year after leading the team's pitchers in wins, innings pitched, complete games and strikeouts.
First year
Grace Landante recorded her first career RBI for Albright via a pinch hit single to left field in the seventh inning of game one.
Heather Pomante went one for three in the final game of her career capping off a career year for her with a .323 batting average and a .380 OBP.
Kathryn Baptiste picked up two hits in game one and started the second game on the mound in what would go on to be the last game of her collegiate career. In four seasons with the team "Bam" started 27 games on the mound while also recording 69 hits and 21 RBIs.
Hood would go on to sweep the day in last series of the year for the Lions.
The team will be entering next season with an exciting core of young returning players, many of whom now have a full season's worth of starting already under their belts.
