Women’s Lacrosse Honors Seniors in Season Finale

The Albright women’s lacrosse team hosted Alvernia this morning in a MAC Commonwealth battle. The Golden Wolves took today’s game 17-12 over the Lions.

READING, Pa. – The Albright women's lacrosse team (2-15, 1-6 MAC Commonwealth) hosted Alvernia (6-11, 2-5 MAC Commonwealth) this morning in the latest installment of the cross-town rivals' matchups. The Golden Wolves took today's game over Albright 17-12.

Prior to the start of today's game, the women's lacrosse team took the time to honor their five graduating seniors. The seniors are Abby Hudson, Kayte Moist, Katelyn Patrick, Brianna Kung and Olivia Moyer.

Lucy Moreland notched her second hattrick of the season this afternoon pacing the Lions offense. Moreland's three goals was good for a team high while also tying the team high in total shots with 11.

Kayte Moist finished her career with two more goals today. A couple weeks ago against Eastern, Moist became the 10th player in Albright history to reach and surpass the 100-career point total mark. Moist totaled 104 points in her career scoring 77 total goals in four years as an Albright Lion.

Alvernia begun to pull away from the Lions in the second half scoring 11 goals to Albright's seven. The Golden Wolves scored seven unanswered goals spanning the third and fourth quarters to escape with a win over Albright.

A trio of Lions added two goals on the day. Brianna Kung, Katelyn Patrick and Riley Basht all added two goals for the Lions in the game.

Kung added three assists to finish with five total points in the game. Kung saved one of her best career games as a Lion ending today with a new career high in points for a game. Additionally, Kung ended the 2024 campaign in the top 15 for total assists this season in the entire MAC Commonwealth.

Sarah Chernis rounded out the scoring for Albright with one goal and two assists for three total points. Like teammate Kung, Chernis ended the season among the top assisters in the MAC Commonwealth.
