IMMACULATA, Pa. – Women's soccer (1-5-1) began their two-game road trip on Tuesday night paying a visit to Immaculata (4-5-1). The Mighty Macs won the game 2-1 in the teams' first meeting since the 2019 season.
The Mighty Macs held a 1-0 advantage at the half and extended their lead in the second scoring their second goal of the game.
With eight minutes left to go in the game, the Lions finally broke through the Immaculata defense.
Sarah Chernis tallied the goal for the Lions in the 82
nd minute. Up to the Lions goal, Albright was knocking on the door having nine shots to that point.
Alyssa DeVita and
Audrey Solt both looked to equalize the game in the final minutes recording shots that just missed going on net. The Mighty Macs were able to hold on for a 2-1 victory.
The Lions finished with 11 total shots in the game.
Daiveni Fisher led with three shots while
Audrey Solt added two. In all, nine of the 10 field starters for Albright recorded at least one shot in today's game.
Alexis Solt and
McKenna LeVan split halves in goal and combined to finish with four saves.
