BALTIMORE, Md.- Albright's (1-6-1) women's soccer team and Goucher (3-4-3) were locked up in tightly contested match on Wednesday night. Goucher's first half goal proved to be the difference winning 1-0 over Albright.
Tonight's match marked the first trip to Goucher since 2015. The 2015 contest resulted in a 1-1 draw. Including tonight the Lions will play five of their next six matches on the road.
It was a psychical game as the two sides combined for 24 fouls and five yellow cards. Goucher was whistled for 14 fouls opposed to Albright's 10.
The Gophers found a goal in the first half to take a 1-0 lead in the 35
th minute of play. The 1-0 score line would hold the remainder of the contest as the Lions looked to find the equalizer.
Mackenzie Sowers and
Daiveni Fisher paced the Lions offense both firing off three shots a piece.
Audrey Solt and
Gianna Glembocki were each credited with two each as the team finished with 10.
McKenna LeVan was solid in goal tonight for Albright making seven saves. LeVan has started seven games for Albright this season and has made at least five saves in six of the seven games.
