Men’s Tennis Wins First Match of Fall Season 7-0 Over McDaniel

Men’s tennis is coming off a MAC Commonwealth playoff appearance and opened up the ’24 fall season with a dominating 7-0 win over McDaniel.

READING, Pa. – Men's tennis returned to the court for the first time this season opening up their '24 fall schedule against McDaniel. The Lions topped the Green Terror 7-0 on their home courts.

There is a new scoring format for NCAA DIII non-conference matches. Previously, matches were played to a team score of nine but are now played to seven. The scoring breakdown is as follows, the team that wins two of the three doubles matches receives one point. Each singles match is worth one point. Four or more points are required to win the dual match.

Last season, the 2023-2024 Albright men's tennis team became qualified for the MAC Commonwealth playoffs for the first time since 2006.

Albright swept the singles matches winning all six of them. Adam Good, playing in #1 singles was the only Lion to sweep his singles match winning 6-0, 6-0.

Xavier Vinson and Nikolai Damman both won their first career collegiate matches. Vinson won 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 and Dammann won 6-2, 6-2.

Dylan Huha won his #3 singles match 6-2, 6-0. Clay Lewandowski won 6-3, 6-3 in #5 singles. Gavin Buckley topped his opponent in #6 singles winning 6-2, 6-2. The trio of Lions were all instrumental in Albrights return to the playoffs a season ago.

Kobe Serpa and Huha won #2 doubles with ease taking the match 8-2. Dominic Perch and Hugh Crawford gave the Lions the overall team point in doubles play by taking the #3 doubles match 8-7 (7-4).
