READING, Pa. – Women's tennis returned to the court for the first time this season as reigning MAC Commonwealth Champions. Albright picked up where they left off a season ago picking up a 6-1 win over visiting McDaniel.
There is a new scoring format for NCAA DIII non-conference matches. Previously, matches were played to a team score of nine but are now played to seven. The scoring breakdown is as follows, the team that wins two of the three doubles matches receives one point. Each singles match is worth one point. Four or more points are required to win the dual match.
Last season, the 2023-2024 Albright women's tennis team became the first in school history to win the MAC Commonwealth championship as well as qualify for the NCAA Tournament.

Alex Pancu is back for her senior season for the Lions. Pancu handled business winning by a common scoreline for Pancu of 6-0, 6-0.

Elicia Aponte and Allison Horrick playing in singles #2, #3 and #4 matches all won by the same scoreline of 6-0, 6-0. Horick's win is the first singles win of the first years Albright career.
Saba Soroush secured the fifth singles match win for the Lions on the day winning 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles, Albright did not drop a single game to McDaniel. Pancu and Horick played #1 doubles, Alina Smith and Aponte won their #2 doubles match while
Valeria Sanchez and
Kaelyn Davis swept their #3 doubles match.
